Challenge Trophy - an internal competition open to all members of Horsham Joggers!
This is a new competition run internally for members of the club. There are 2 races for members to compete in.
The shorter race is the Worthing 10k to be run in June. The longer race is the Barns Green Half Marathon in November.
The fastest male and female Horsham Joggers will be awarded the Challenge Trophy and there will be medals for each age category winner (including the CT winners) for male and female.

Eastbourne Half Marathon (7th March 2010)

Steyning Stinger (7th March 2010)
Congratulations to those who took part in this gruelling event. There were two races, a full marathon and also a half. The first jogger back in the full marathon was Dave Sandham in a wonderful time of 3:43:09 which put him in 13th place overall, next came Keith Ayers in 4:50:39, Terry Smith 5:11:35.
In the half, the first jogger back was Steve Wigmore in 1:35:53, putting him in 8th place, next came Mariann Powell 1:52:36, Karen Wigmore 2:05:36, Mark Howarth 2:21:58, Alan Smith 2:22:14.
Barcelon Marathon (7th March 2010)

Chichester 10K (7th February 2010)
Congratulations to all 21 Joggers who took part, a good turn out for the first race of the year. Particular congratulations to Daniel Pettitt who must have been the youngest runner there (his birthday was on Friday, making him eligible by just two days) and who completed in a highly creditable time of 52 minutes. Of everyone else, Gareth Leighton was the first jogger to finish in an amazing time of 34:53. Las Vegas Marathon, (6th December 2009)
Yes, it’s official, we get evreywhere. This one sounds like a hot gamble to me. Not satisfied with completing all the Grand Prix events Geoffrey Parker decided to give this one a go. He finished in a very creditable time of 3:49:26.
Sussex Masters cross country, Denne Park, (6th December 2009)
Congratulations to the men’s team who finished in third place, comprising of Dean Angell who came 10th in a time of 38:33. Next was Steve Wigmore 39:38, Pete O’Connell 39:41 and Tony Johnson 41:56.

There were two races here, a 5K and a 10K. In the 5K there were great efforts from Val Purnell who came second overall in a time of 21:17, Lucinda Potten who was 5th in 22:57 and Trish Evans in 28:43.

Crowborough 10K, (29th November 2009)
Congratulations to all twelve joggers who competed in this habitually tough race. There were a couple of notable results, namely Steve Nicholls who came 8th overall which was his first top ten finish in a Grand Prix event (he seems to get faster with each race!) and to Geoffrey Parker who has run in every single Grand Prix race this year, a feat which demonstrates remarkable resilience. Barns Green Half Marathon, (1st November 2009)
Congratulations to all who braved the wind and the rain, it certainly made for a memorable day! There was a great turn out from the joggers with 66 of us running and a few great individual performances. Particular congratulations to Valerie McLachlan who won her age category (despite not having competed in a race for eleven years!). Other notable results were John Dyckes who came second in his category and Dean Angell, Bryan Camfield and Louise Collings who all came third in their respective categories, along with our first team home of Dean Angell, Bryan Camfield and Pete O’Connell who finished third.

We find our way even here! Congratulations to Rosalie Wilson who not only made the journey but finished in a wonderful time of 3:19:46 which was a big PB and saw her finish in 5th place in the ladies race.
Dusseldorf Marathon (3rd May 2009)
Congratulations to all five joggers who took part, there were some great times achieved. First to finish was Tony Johnson in a very impressive time of 3:16:04 (a big pb). London Marathon (26th April 2009)
Finally I understand the true meaning of twenty six miles. It’s a long way. Congratulations to all 23 finishers from the club. The weather was glorious, paticularly for the vast number of supporters, but was too hot for many running. Overall though it was a great day. First horsham jogger home was, once again, Bryan Camfield in a staggering time of 2:45:32. Next home was John Dykes in 3:11:25 which put him in 31st place for his age, an amazing achievement.
