HJ Volunteer and Jogger of the Year for 2022
Thank you to those of you who nominated your fellow members for either Volunteer or Jogger of the Year during 2022. Nominations closed at the end of 2022 and the list of nominees are now ready for you to vote here.
The voting will close on Tuesday 28th February and the person with the highest vote in each category will be presented with the appropriate award at the AGM to be held on Friday 21st April 2023.
Don’t forget to put in your nominations for 2023 as and when you see your fellow HJ members do something exceptional in either a volunteering role or in a running event. Simply email info@horshamjoggers.co.uk with the name of your nominee and the reason for your nomination. Committee members are not eligible to be nominated!
Spring Party Night
The HJ Spring Party will be held on Friday 17th March at the Horsham Sports and Cricket Club on Cricket Field Road. DJ with 80s/90s theme.
- 7:30 pm till late
- Tickets cost £10 each
- Please book your tickets online via MemberZone on the HJ website
- Each member can purchase an additional ticket for a guest.
South Downs Way 100 Miles Relay
This year will see the 37th running of the South Downs Way 100 Miles Relay on Saturday 3rd June, 2023. The club will pay the team entry fee of £120 to support this successful, very popular, annual event.
Overall entries are restricted and each participating running club can only enter the same number of teams as the previous year. The entry fee includes a donation towards the upkeep of the South Downs Way via the South Downs National Park Authority.
The non-runners for each leg of the relay will travel between legs in a minibus which has already been booked. If you are interested in taking part and representing HJ in this relay, please email info@horshamjoggers.co.uk and you will be put in touch with the team leader for this event.
Horsham Twinning Visit to Lage
The Horsham Twinning Association has arranged a trip to Lage, which is the German town twinned with Horsham, travelling out on Thursday 11th May and returning on Monday 15th May 2023. Each year, the dates of the visit coincide with traditional running events in Lage which are held on the 2nd weekend in May. The events will include a marathon, half marathon, 10k and 5k and Nordic walking events at different times that weekend. There are food and drink events on the same weekend.
Unfortunately, this weekend coincides with the Horsham 10k which requires some 100 or so of our members to support and volunteer, and which remains the club’s priority. In future years, HJ will consider organising the Horsham 10k on a different weekend to avoid the clash and to enable more members to be available for both occasions.
