About Us

Horsham Joggers was set up in 1984 and since those early days the membership levels are now at record levels with around 250 members.

Horsham Joggers is a social running club, committed to promoting the fun in running. We cater for runners of all levels of fitness and ability, from the first time jogger to the sub 3 hour Marathon athlete. Whatever your level we will welcome you at the Horsham Joggers and there will be a place for you. The concentration on fun continues with a very active social side to the club with several events taking place throughout the year. These include: Ten Pin Bowling , Brewery trips, Go-Karting, Pasta parties and a very popular Christmas dinner dance.

The running calendar is a varied one with organised events at all levels through our membership of the Sussex Grand Prix, The West Sussex Fun Run League and Horsham 10K road race. These are supplemented by locally organised club events such as pub runs, time trials, handicap races, night running, London Marathon training runs and the infamous Xmas mud run. So if you’re into running, whether as a novice or a veteran, come and join us, you won’t be disappointed.

CLUB ACTIVITIES

Tuesday Club Night
Runners meet at Broadbridge Heath Sports Centre for 7pm. After club announcements runners divide into groups based on their abilities (or how energetic they are feeling!) before setting out on various runs of varying lengths ad intensity. Whatever your abilities there should be something to suit your needs.

Thursday Club Night
There are always plenty of options on a Thursday evening -

1. Track training - 7pm
This is held on the track at Broadbridge Heath and the level of commitment and effort expended is entirely up to you. At the moment there are a number of different groups involved in the training sessions and although numbers drop off slightly during the summer, you should be able to find something which you are comfortable with.

2. Group runs
If you can’t see yourself on the track there is usually the option of a group run with other like minded individuals. The numbers for this can vary and, as it is a somewhat ad-hoc arrangement, it is always prudent to enquire on a Tuesday night if anyone is organising such a run - we would not want you being left as the Lone Ranger (runner)!

3. Summer pub runs
If you are looking for an easy way to take advantage of the pleasant summer evenings and want to combine a social evening with some training then these should be right up your street (or bridleway for that matter). Every run starts and finishes at a pub, who could ask for more! A list of this year’s runs is published in the Events section.

Itchingfield Time Trials
The 3 trial series is run over a 5k (approx) course, with the start and finish at Itchingfield School. The course consists of 2 laps anti-clockwise around a circuit encompassing Itchingfield Road / Fulfords Road / Fulfords Hill.
The idea behind the series is for each participant to try and improve their personal time for the course over the 3 races. There are no prizes for winning a race but, at the end of the series, awards will be made to the male and female runners who have shown the greatest improvement in their times. Runners must complete all 3 trials to qualify for an award.
The dates for your diary will be advertised in the Events section.

Club Kit
There is a full range of club kit available and this can be purchased from Mike de Frateschi at the Up and Running Shop in Horsham. One point to remember, club members taking part in the Sussex Grand Prix, Challenge Trophy or West Sussex Fun Runs must be wearing official club top (i.e. vest, t-shirt or sweatshirt) to score any points.
