The summer pub run list is now out:-
Pub Runs
Come along and join us, you really don’t know what you’re missing, Trail running at its very best.
The pub runs have been an absolute joy for many years .We are, as a club very lucky to have them. The runs and walks follow footpaths, bridleways, byways and permissive paths through our wonderful countryside, through woods, across fields, over hills and beside rivers and canals.
The runs are usually between 6 and 7 miles. We hope to have two groups one faster than the other; both groups follow a premarked route on maps provided by the route
Organiser, We have not lost anybody yet!
The walks also have a route planned and marked on maps for a distance of 2.5 to 3.5 miles.
We meet at a different pub each week. After parking at the pub we have a quick briefing about the route, then we go for a circular run or walk returning to the pub. Many of us then have a drink together in the pub, some a meal as well.
We also have our traditional Pizza night, Pie night and Barbecue night, which many enjoy after their run.
This year’s runs and walks include routes over the Southdowns and the Surrey hills, through vineyards, routes along side the Wey and Arun canal and the river Adur.
I look forward to running and walking with you all this season.
Peter.

What is the West Sussex Fun Run League?
The League was set up in 1982 to promote fun running for everyone, from juniors to vets, male or female, regardless of ability. One of its objectives is to encourage runners to join clubs in the League
There is a scoring system reflecting participation as well as winning, and the key principle that events should be cheap to enter (£2 per runner) to attract as many runners as possible.
Events are staged over 5km to 10km with spot prizes as opposed to prizes for excellence.
Enjoy the run!

Sussex Grand Prix
Horsham Joggers is a member of The Sussex Road Racing Grand Prix, to give it it’s full title. This is a series of road races held within Sussex during the calendar year, where prizes are awarded to the overall winners in several categories at the end of the year.
These races are not just for the faster runners! Anyone can take part and there are runners of all levels at the races. If you take part in eight races or more, you can help your club to win points at the end of the year.
In each race, points are awarded to members of Grand Prix clubs - the remaining runners in each race are not counted. The first man and the first woman will both score 500 points, the second man and woman will both score 499 points, and so on, down to the 500th man and woman, who will both score 1 point. After each race, the points that you score are recorded and kept as a cumulative total. To be eligible for prizes you must score in at least eight races (if you score in more than eight, then your best eight scores will count), two of which must be of 10 miles or more.
For more information, see the SGP website http://www.sussexgrandprix.co.uk.
We organise our own Horsham 10k road race within the Sussex Grand Prix, held in May every year.
Horsham Joggers Ladies won the team trophy in 2012 with the men coming third.
