The Horsham Round

The Horsham Round – Every Bank Holiday Monday in August

  • For 2024, the Horsham Round will be held on Sunday 25th August and will start and finish at Horsham Rugby Club. This is  special event to celebrate 40 years of Horsham Joggers. There will be some minor changes to the route, and a slightly later start time, followed by a party in the Rugby Club. More details tbc.

29 mile scenic team relay first run by Horsham Joggers in 1994.

The Horsham Round is a fun, free, team relay event. The course is around 29 miles in total, divided into 7 stages of between 3 and 5 miles each. The event normally starts and finishes in Horsham Park with a social family party in the Park afterwards but for 2024 we will start at Horsham Rugby Club.

The route is mainly off-road and includes parts of the Horsham Riverside Walk along the River Arun, a section of the Downs Link, as well as footpaths and bridleways through woodland, farmland, countryside and pretty villages around Horsham. There are some short sections run on public roads, but these are kept to a minimum.

The aim of the Round is for all teams to finish at the same time, 2.30pm. Please note that timings for 2024 are tbc.

Teams will be asked to estimate their total finishing time when they register, and runners will set off in finish time order. Team members split the 7 stages between themselves, and we encourage all team members to run the last part of the last stage together, so they cross the finish line together.

The event is free for members of Horsham Joggers, and to other selected local teams by invitation only. If your club is interested in entering a team, please email your interest to info@horshamjoggers.co.uk

You can register a team of any size from one person upwards. In the past teams have averaged around 7 or 8 members, although there is no limit to the size of the team, or to the number of runners on each of the 7 stages. The only stipulation is that each team will cover the full 7 stage route in the correct order with each team member running at least one stage. We encourage all team members to run the last stage, or the last part of it, together, so you all cross the finish line together.

There are no marshals, signage or refreshment stations on the route. In the interests of safety, and to assist with map reading, we suggest that at least two runners from each team run each stage. Teams normally have a support vehicle and driver to shuttle runners between stages. We will provide details of the drop-off / pick-up points in our team information pack. Teams will need to organise their own drinks and snacks.

A map of the complete Horsham Round route  can be found here: Good Run Guide Route Map. Here is a Route Guide with directions. Or just watch this video clip of the 2017 event kindly provided by Alan: Horsham Round 2017

After the run, there is a party for all runners, supporters and their families. Bring your own food or purchase refreshments from a variety of food outlets.

Parking is free at Horsham Rubgy Club.
