END OF YEAR……NEWSLETTER…2004.
Dear Jogger,
I hope this newsletter finds you all fit and well and showing our usual resilience to the Sussex Winter. Dark, damp, breath-hanging-in-the-air nights, cold unforgiving mornings and then the odd jewel of a crisp winters morning when you find a crisp countryside frosted with white and a clear blue sky with a slow saffron sunrise, and you are out there running and it is all yours. Such are the moments we all live for. Enjoy the moments. It has been a strange year for the Horsham Joggers this year. Well more of a struggle than strange. A new Chairman, a new Treasurer and then recently we have accepted the resignation, from the Committee of our Hon. Secretary of many years standing, Maggie Geal. Sometimes you don’t know what you’ve got ‘til it’s gone! As always there are knock on events. Maggie used to organise the Valentines Run. We haven’t been able to find a successor for this task and so the Horsham Joggers Valentines Run 2005 will not be happening. Similarly The Horsham Joggers 10k event needed a new organiser as Steve Ogborn stepped down Andy Spriggs has jumped into the breech and is organising the event in conjunction with the Horsham Lions…. The Committee is determined to try to get people involved in all aspects of the club and have drawn up a rough time table of events for next year. Specific dates will be given as soon as possible so that we can all get together and enjoy the benefits of being in our running club and enjoy each others company at races, events and social do’s etc… So please find the list of events and please come and join in when you can. Big thanks to everyone who has helped out this year and to Alison Gormley for filling the Hon.Sec. shoes admirably. Enjoy the Season of Goodwill and your heavy breathing and sweating!
Hon.Chairman
Mike Whiteley
